The Institutional Research & Performance Specialist is responsible for designing, managing, and enhancing institutional analytics systems that support evidence-based planning, performance measurement, quality assurance, and strategic decision-making. The role combines institutional research, data science, and business intelligence to strengthen the University’s performance monitoring frameworks, advance institutional effectiveness, and ensure readiness for accreditation and regulatory reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Data Analytics and Management

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize institutional dashboards covering academic, administrative, and strategic KPIs.
  • Collect, clean, and integrate data from multiple internal and external systems (e.g., SIS, LMS, HRIS, Finance, CHEDS).
  • Apply descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics to identify patterns, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct statistical modeling and data mining to support academic program evaluation, student success, and faculty performance metrics.
  • Design and maintain processes to ensure data consistency and accessibility across reporting platforms.

Institutional Research and Reporting

  • Support institutional planning, accreditation, and policy evaluation through rigorous data analysis.
  • Prepare analytical reports and data submissions for CAA, ADEK, MoHESR, and other external regulatory bodies.
  • Produce performance reports for executive leadership and senior management committees.
  • Conduct benchmarking and ranking analyses using global standards and comparative datasets.

Visualization and Communication

  • Design automated, interactive dashboards and visual reports using Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent BI tools.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights using clear storytelling and visualization principles.
  • Communicate analytical findings effectively to academic and administrative stakeholders.
  • Ensure data visualizations comply with accessibility, consistency, and branding standards.

Collaboration and Institutional Effectiveness

  • Partner with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Quality Assurance (IEQA), and Academic Leadership to provide analytics for program review, policy assessment, and performance evaluation.
  • Contribute to institutional research studies on enrollment trends, graduate employability, and student learning outcomes.
  • Provide analytical training sessions and promote data literacy across departments.
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to evidence-based institutional improvement initiatives.

Academic Qualifications Required

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related relevant discipline.
  • A postgraduate degree will be preferred.

Professional Experience Required
Essential:

  • Minimum of 6–7 years in data analytics, institutional research, or business intelligence ideally in higher education managing dashboards, KPIs, and strategic reporting.
  • Direct involvement in university QA activities, including contributing to self-study reports and assembling evidence to meet regulator/assessor requirements (e.g., CAA, ADEK).
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python/R, Power BI or Tableau, and advanced Excel; strong grasp of data modeling, ETL pipelines, and statistical methods; capable of quantitative and qualitative analysis and clear reporting.
  • Familiarity with higher education data standards and reporting (e.g., CHEDS, ADEK, CAA, MoHESR).
  • Excellent time management, organization, and administrative skills; strong command of MS Office (Word, Excel) and databases.
