Job Purpose:
The Head of Analytics and Operations will lead the marketing department’s data analytics, marketing technology, and operational efficiency initiatives. This role is responsible for overseeing the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform, conducting market research, managing marketing processes, marketing operations, and most importantly, delivering actionable insights through comprehensive analytics (web, social, and campaign) to enhance decision-making, optimize performance, and measure marketing ROI in support of MBZUAI’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Technology (SFDC):
- Oversee the implementation and daily operations of Salesforce Marketing Cloud, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and user adoption.
- Develop automated marketing processes and drive marketing automation strategies, managing integrations with other platforms to streamline operations.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Lead the analytics function for web, social media, and campaigns.
- Create and present regular dashboards and reports to leadership, providing insights into campaign performance, audience engagement, and market trends.
- Define and enhance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of marketing initiatives.
Market Research:
- Conduct thorough market research to stay informed on industry trends, competitor strategies, and audience insights.
- Provide actionable recommendations to inform and shape marketing strategies based on research findings.
Marketing Operations:
- Develop, implement, and refine marketing operations processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and collaboration across teams.
- Oversee lead management processes and ensure the health of the marketing database.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Collaborate with Web & Campaigns, Content Marketing, PR, and other internal teams to ensure that data and technology support marketing initiatives and conversion funnel opportunities.
- Manage marketing budgets allocated to technology and analytics, ensuring efficient resource allocation and reporting.
- Manage external vendors related to marketing technology, analytics platforms, and research services.
- Ensure data compliance and adherence to best practices across all marketing technology platforms.
- Foster a data-driven decision-making culture within the marketing team.
Other duties:
- Carry out all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager and senior divisional manager that are commensurate with these functional objectives.
Academic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Film Production, Communications, or a related field is required.
- A postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Professional Experience:
Essential
- At least 10+ years of experience in marketing operations and analytics.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation and operations is essential.
- Demonstrated expertise in web analytics (e.g., Google Analytics), social media analytics, and campaign reporting.
- Experience with market research methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Experience in a leadership or management role.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in the higher education or technology industry.
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications.
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
