Job Purpose:
MBZUAI is seeking a dynamic Associate Head of Content Production with expertise in multimedia storytelling, filmmaking, and team leadership. The role combines end-to-end production of vodcasts, podcasts, and video content with video journalism, capturing events, interviews, and campus life. The role will also manage a content calendar and asset library, and ensure all materials meet brand standards. This position requires close collaboration across teams, staying current with digital trends, and being hands-on in production while supported by designers and animators.

Event & Activity Coverage:
- Capture the energy of campus life, producing timely highlight reels, social media clips, and documentary-style features from lectures, workshops, product launches, and major university events. These videos will be of sufficient quality to play on the large screen at events, keynotes, etc.
Content & Production Planning:
- Develop and maintain a proactive content calendar in collaboration with the Head of Creative, Head of Studio, and Head of Content Strategy to ensure a steady and timely flow of both video and editorial assets.
Inter-departmental Collaboration:
- Work closely with the social media, campaigns, and communications teams to ensure content is optimized for different platforms and aligned with broader marketing objectives.
Asset Management:
- Organize, tag, and maintain the university’s growing library of video footage and finished assets for easy retrieval and repurpose by the wider marketing team.
Brand & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all produced content strictly adheres to MBZUAI’s brand guidelines, tone of voice, and high standards of quality.
Technology & Trend Monitoring:
- Keep abreast of the latest trends in digital storytelling, video production techniques, and newsletter engagement strategies, recommending and implementing new approaches where appropriate.
Other Duties:
- Perform all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager that are commensurate with these functional objectives.
Academic Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Film Production, Digital Media, or a closely related field is required.
- A postgraduate degree will be preferred.
Professional Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Media Production, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in video production, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Advanced proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Final Cut Pro), cinematography, post-production, and audio design.
- Skilled in operating drones (certified RPAS pilot).
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale productions and manage tight editorial timelines.
- Strong portfolio of documentaries, social content, and news reports.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English preferred.
