Job Purpose:

The International Career Services and Internship Specialist is responsible for expanding global internship and employment opportunities for MBZUAI students and graduates while supporting their overall visibility for international employment opportunities. This role focuses on building and managing strategic relationships with top global employers, enhancing the university’s visibility in the job market, and supporting professional development for graduate and postdoctoral students.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase global internship and employment opportunities for MBZUAI students and graduates.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with regional, national, and international employers, including extended overseas visits to engage leading technology companies.
  • Partner with employers to design and deliver on-campus and virtual recruitment initiatives such as job postings, career fairs, presentations, and internship programs.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and internal stakeholders to align employer engagement with MBZUAI’s Employability Strategy.
  • Facilitate connections between employers and the MBZUAI community, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • Promote and advertise international opportunities through MBZUAI’s Careers Portal and other channels.
  • Represent MBZUAI at global conferences, industry events, and networking forums to strengthen the university’s employer network.
  • Produce targeted employer engagement materials, manage content delivery, and coordinate employer-facing communications.
  • Monitor and report on global labor market trends, recruitment practices, and student employment outcomes.
  • Deliver one-to-one and group sessions for students, particularly PhD candidates seeking global opportunities.
  • Support the professional development of postdoctoral researchers and PhD students.
  • Track graduate career outcomes in AI, Robotics, Computer Science, and new academic disciplines as programs expand.
  • Support operational plans for the delivery of global opportunities and outcomes.
  • Perform all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager that are commensurate with these functional objectives.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Postgraduate degree will be preferred.

Professional Experience:

Essential

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in career services, employer relations, or corporate recruitment.
  • Experience in AI, technology, or computer science-related fields, or in connecting talent with global technology companies.
  • Proven ability to build and manage international employer relationships.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, travel extensively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.

Preferred

  • Experience in international recruitment, talent acquisition, or higher education employer engagement.
  • Skills in marketing, negotiation, and strategic planning.
  • Language certifications or additional language proficiency.
