Job Purpose:

The Training Creative Content Specialist is responsible for developing and executing marketing and communication strategies that raise the visibility of The Academy’s programs, initiatives, and impact. The role focuses on shaping compelling narratives and producing multi-format content — including articles, social media posts, press releases, videos, podcasts, interviews, and short documentaries — that engage both internal and external audiences.

This person acts as the communications bridge between The Academy and MBZUAI’s Marketing and Communications team — ensuring alignment with institutional branding while creatively showcasing The Academy’s thought leadership and activities. The role requires a proactive storyteller who can translate complex AI and education topics into accessible, engaging content across multiple platforms, including social media, newsletters, websites, and emerging media formats such as podcasts or video features.

Key Responsibilities:

Marketing and Communications Strategy

  • Develop and implement integrated communication and marketing plans to promote The Academy’s leadership programs, professional training, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to showcase The Academy’s impact through storytelling, digital campaigns, and partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with MBZUAI’s Marketing and Communications team to ensure brand and message alignment across all communications.

Content Creation and Channel Management

  • Plan, create, and curate high-quality, multi-format content for The Academy’s website, blogs, newsletters, press releases, and social media platforms.
  • Conceptualize and oversee the production of multimedia content, such as short videos, podcasts, interviews, and mini-documentaries, in collaboration with internal teams or external vendors.
  • Manage editorial calendars to ensure consistent and timely coverage of The Academy’s milestones, events, and training activities.
  • Explore new storytelling formats and platforms to broaden The Academy’s audience reach and engagement.
  • Maintain consistency of brand voice and narrative across all communication channels.

Storytelling and Thought Leadership

  • Work with internal teams and subject matter experts to translate technical or academic material into accessible narratives for wider audiences.
  • Identify and highlight stories in various formats that demonstrate the societal impact of The Academy’s programs.
  • Contribute to speeches, articles, and op-eds that position The Academy as a key voice in AI literacy and community learning.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Liaise with MBZUAI’s Marketing and Communications Department and other departments to synchronize communication timelines, assets, and messaging.
  • Coordinate with training and events teams to ensure timely promotion and post-event coverage of programs.
  • Support the creation of briefing notes, promotional toolkits, and key messaging documents for internal use.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Track analytics across all communication platforms and prepare reports on engagement and reach.
  • Evaluate performance data to enhance future content strategies and improve audience impact.
  • Maintain an organized repository of multimedia assets, publications, and promotional materials.

Academic Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
  • Postgraduate study or professional certification in digital media, public relations, or content strategy is preferred.

Professional Experience:

Essential

  • 3–5 years of experience in marketing, communications, or multimedia content production, ideally within education, training, or research environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written, visual, and audio content across platforms — including websites, newsletters, social media, and press releases.
  • Experience managing or producing multimedia formats such as videos, interviews, podcasts, or short documentaries.
  • Strong storytelling, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and channels.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics, web publishing tools, and digital content management systems.
  • Excellent organizational and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred

  • Experience working within higher education or research institutions.
  • Knowledge of science or technology communication practices.
  • Experience coordinating with creative agencies, production teams, or freelancers.
