The Talent Management Officer provides operational and project coordination support across MBZUAI’s Talent Management programs and processes. The role supports performance cycle administration, succession documentation, skills profile maintenance, national talent tracking, and the coordination of specific talent programs such as probation, early-career development, and high-potential program logistics.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Performance Cycle Administration

  • Prepare and distribute performance cycle templates, timelines, and guidance materials.
  • Track completion status and send structured reminders to managers and employees.
  • Maintain accurate performance cycle data in Oracle and TM trackers.

Skills Taxonomy & Skills Profile Maintenance

  • Coordinate the completion and updating of skills profiles with employees and managers.
  • Support uploading, editing, or cleaning skills data in systems and templates.
  • Track missing or outdated skills information and follow up with assigned areas.
  • Maintain consistency of skills mapping templates and instructions.

National Talent Process Support

  • Track performance, probation, and skills profile milestones for Emirati employees to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain accurate national talent documentation within performance, skills, and succession trackers.
  • Highlight missing documentation or overdue actions to the Talent Management Specialist.

Talent Program Coordination

  • Coordinate logistical and administrative support for talent-related programs, such as Probation, Early Careers, Grads, High-Potential Programs, Mentoring Programs, etc.

Data & Reporting Support

  • Update TM trackers across performance, succession, skills, and mobility.
  • Run basic HRIS reports (Oracle) and compile raw data sets.
  • Conduct first-pass data quality checks and highlight inconsistencies.
  • Assist in preparing simple dashboards, summaries, or briefing packs.

Project Support

  • Own one or two small, clearly defined quarterly TM projects (e.g., skills profile refresh campaign, probation toolkit update, template redesign).

Academic Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

Professional Experience Required
Essential:

  • Experience providing administrative or operational support to performance management, talent review, probation, or succession-related processes within an HR or people function.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating cyclical HR activities, tracking timelines, and maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Experience working with managers and employees to provide clear process guidance and follow up on required actions.
  • Practical experience maintaining and updating HR or talent-related data, such as performance records, skills profiles, or employee trackers.
  • Ability to prepare clear summaries, trackers, or basic reports for review by senior HR colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.

Preferred:

  • Exposure to national talent, Emiratization, or workforce initiatives in a support or coordination capacity.
  • Familiarity with skills frameworks, role profiles, or capability mapping exercises.
  • Experience working in higher education, research, or similarly structured organization.
  • Hands-on experience using HR systems (e.g., Oracle or similar) to support performance, talent, or employee data processes.
  • Experience supporting Learning and Development or Talent teams with program coordination, data preparation, or reporting activities.
