Job Purpose:

Head of Global Community is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to foster connections and engagement within the university’s diverse international community. The role combines elements of community management, international relations, and strategic communication on a global scale, and works closely with the function of Global Initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy Development and Implementation:

  • Create and execute global community engagement initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Lead annual planning for internationalization and partnerships.
  • Adapt strategies for different cultural contexts and markets.

Global Community Building:

  • Organize and host community events, both online and in-person tailored to the university’s global key stakeholder community.
  • Facilitate connections between international and domestic stakeholders amongst the university’s eco-system.
  • Onboard and integrate diverse community members to the existing global initiatives or develop new ones.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with international partner institutions.
  • Liaise with embassies and global networks.
  • Represent the organization at international events and meetings.

Communication and Outreach:

  • Develop engaging, culturally appropriate content for various digital channels.
  • Create newsletters and informational materials for the global community.
  • Respond to inquiries and feedback from community members worldwide.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work with various departments including Provost Office, Research Office, Public Affairs to integrate community engagement efforts.
  • Ensure alignment of community engagement with overall organizational strategy.

Other Duties:

  • Perform all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager that are commensurate with these functional objectives.

Academic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Communications, International Relations, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline preferred.

Professional Experience:

Essential

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in high-level community management roles.
  • Experience working in higher education institutions or research organizations.
  • Demonstrated success in community building and stakeholder management work.
  • Strong intercultural communication skills and experience working in diverse environments.
  • System thinking and excellent project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more additional languages highly desirable.

Preferred

  • Experience in promoting artificial intelligence to communities.
