Job Purpose:
As a Global Initiatives Specialist, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of the university’s global engagement programs. Collaborating closely with the Head of Global Initiatives, you will ensure that all program phases align with established design and delivery schedules, proactively addressing any challenges to maintain program efficacy. The role includes identifying and securing opportunities for the university’s participation in prominent international platforms, events, and conferences, and coordinating with various departments to develop detailed agendas and programs for these engagements. You will also formulate and implement strategies that align with the university’s overarching objectives, pursue new program opportunities, and contribute to the development of innovative approaches and best practices. Additionally, the specialist will ensure compliance with partnership agreements and quality standards, conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of program activities, and prepare comprehensive reports detailing program progress and impact for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Implementation and Oversight:
- Support the Head of Global Initiatives to develop and execute comprehensive global initiatives.
- Ensure program phases adhere to established design and delivery timelines.
- Proactively identify and address implementation challenges to maintain program efficacy.
- Systematically evaluate program outcomes to inform continuous improvement efforts.
Global Platforms Engagement:
- Identify and secure opportunities for the university’s participation in prominent international platforms, events, and conferences.
- Develop detailed agendas and programs for engagements, coordinating closely with the community engagement team and other university departments to ensure seamless execution.
- Compose and refine program-related documents and materials to support engagement activities.
Strategic Planning and Innovation:
- Formulate and implement program strategies that align with the university’s overarching objectives.
- Recognize and pursue new program opportunities, contributing to the development of global engagement proposals.
- Design implementation plans utilizing standardized program management cycle tools to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Participate in the creation of innovative approaches and best practices to enhance program effectiveness.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all programs comply with partnership agreements and meet established quality standards.
- Conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of program activities and outcomes to assess impact.
- Prepare comprehensive reports detailing program progress and effectiveness for stakeholders.
Other Duties:
- Perform all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager that are commensurate with these functional objectives.
Academic Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in communications, international relations, global affairs, or a related field.
- A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline preferred.
Professional Experience:
Essential
- At least 3-5 years of experience in management of programs within international entities or relevant experience in global partnerships, or strategic collaborations.
- Experience working in higher education institutions or research organizations.
- Proven track record in program cycle management and planning.
- Demonstrated success in driving organization initiatives and strategic objectives.
- Strong intercultural communication skills and experience working in diverse environments.
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and report writing.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more additional languages highly desirable.
Preferred
- Experience in the field of artificial intelligence, education technology, or research.
- Familiarity with the academic and research landscape in the AI field.
