Job Purpose:

The Global Initiatives Lead is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic global engagement initiatives that advance the university’s international strategy. This role supports the university’s efforts to enhance its global reputation, foster international partnerships, and create meaningful cross-cultural experiences for students and faculty.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Implementation: 

  • Develop and execute global engagement initiatives aligned with the university’s international strategy. 
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and pursue new global opportunities. 
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of global initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for improvement. 

Initiative Development and Implementation: 

  • Develop and implement flagship global engagement programs that amplify the influence of the university at global level.  
  • Identify and present the university at high-level international platforms and respective events and conferences. 
  • Work closely with Global Community to onboard key stakeholders and partners onto existing initiatives or develop new ones.  

Global Outreach and Communication:  

  • Develop and implement communication strategies to promote global engagement opportunities. 
  • Prepare reports on global engagement metrics and outcomes for university leadership. 
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to create materials showcasing global initiatives. 

Other Duties: 

  • Perform all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager that are commensurate with these functional objectives.

Academic Qualification:

  • A Master’s degree in International Relations, Education, or a related field. 
  • A postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline preferred. 

Professional Experience:

Essential

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in business development, global partnerships, or strategic collaborations. 
  • Experience working in higher education institutions or research organizations. 
  • Proven track record in developing and managing international partnerships and programs. 
  • Experience in negotiating and implementing partnership agreements. 
  • Demonstrated success in driving business development initiatives and achieving strategic objectives. 
  • Strong intercultural communication skills and experience working in diverse environments. 
  • Excellent project management and organizational abilities. 
  • Proficiency in data analysis and report writing. 
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more additional languages highly desirable.  

Preferred

  • Experience in the field of artificial intelligence, education technology, or research. 
  • Familiarity with the academic and research landscape in the AI field.
