Job Purpose:
The AI Talent Specialist supports the coordination, delivery, and evaluation of AI-focused experiential learning programs that enhance students’ career readiness and employability. The role connects students with internships, workshops, and employer engagement activities aligned with academic and institutional outcomes. Serving as a bridge between students, faculty, and external partners, the Specialist fosters meaningful collaborations that link academic learning to real-world AI applications. The role also focuses on building strategic partnerships with industry leaders and alumni to expand networking and career opportunities in line with global best practices. By implementing comprehensive career services and internship initiatives, the Specialist empowers students and recent graduates to navigate their professional pathways effectively. This role contributes feedback to ensure MBZUAI’s curriculum remains relevant to evolving job market demands, supporting the University’s mission to position graduates for success in the global AI workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Management
- Assist in the design, implementation, and management of innovative career services and AI internship programs that reflect global best practices and align with MBZUAI’s academic mission and institutional goals.
- Coordinate AI-focused experiential learning programs for undergraduate (UG) students, ensuring alignment with academic preparation, industry needs, and student career interests.
- Support comprehensive career planning resources, including workshops, seminars, online tools, and training materials that support student and alumni career readiness.
- Continuously enhance programs based on feedback from students, alumni, and industry partners to ensure relevance and impact.
Industry Engagement and Employer Relations
- Cultivate and maintain a strategic partnerships portfolio with AI, technology, and innovation-driven companies to expand internship and job opportunities for students.
- Collaborate with employers to design meaningful on-site experiences, site visits, and networking opportunities that strengthen student exposure to real-world AI applications.
- Support the planning and execution of career fairs, employer panels, and recruitment events that connect UG students and alumni with global and regional industry leaders.
- Work with Marketing and Communications to promote career services, internship opportunities, and success stories effectively across university channels.
Student Advising and Career Support
- Provide personalized career counselling and guidance to students and alumni, supporting them in identifying goals, exploring opportunities, and developing actionable career plans.
- Advise students before, during, and after internships to ensure meaningful, high-quality experiences aligned with academic and career outcomes.
- Conduct individual and group sessions on resume writing, interview preparation, professional branding, and job search strategies to enhance employability.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate practical learning experiences within academic programs and ensure students are career-ready upon graduation.
Data Analysis, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
- Collect, track, and analyze data on student placements, employer engagement, and program outcomes, ensuring accuracy and data integrity.
- Conduct regular surveys and assessments to evaluate satisfaction levels and identify trends, challenges, and improvement areas.
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and insights for management and university leadership to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Use analytics to guide strategic planning and continuous improvement across all career development programs.
Compliance and Quality Assurance
- Ensure all career services, internships, and experiential learning activities comply with university policies, legal standards, and partner agreements.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in global career development, integrating innovative approaches into MBZUAI’s programs.
- Support internal audit requirements by maintaining documentation, reports, and compliance records in line with institutional governance standards.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including academic departments, faculty, student affairs, outreach and alumni relations to align career initiatives with academic objectives and student needs.
- Serve as a key liaison between students, alumni, and employers, ensuring effective communication and relationship management.
- Prepare and present regular reports on program achievements, challenges, and strategic opportunities for university leadership.
- Assist in promoting AI talent initiatives across campus to strengthen student engagement and visibility of MBZUAI’s AI talent ecosystem.
Other Duties
- Perform all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager that are commensurate with these functional objectives.
Academic Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A postgraduate degree is preferred.
Professional Experience:
Essential
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in career services, internships, recruitment, academic advising, or professional development, preferably within a higher education environment.
- Proven ability to develop, deliver, and manage career and internship programs, including workshops, seminars, and training sessions focused on career readiness, job search strategies, and professional skills.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining partnerships with employers, industry leaders, and alumni to generate internship and job opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills, with a student-centered and service-oriented approach.
- Solid analytical and organizational abilities, with experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting to measure program effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized, capable of managing multiple initiatives in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
Preferred
- Experience organizing or supporting career fairs, networking events, and employer engagement activities to maximize student participation and employer visibility.
