Job Purpose:
MBZUAI School of Digital Public Health is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Project Manager to contribute significantly to the university’s strategic initiatives. This role offers broad exposure to strategic initiatives across MBZUAI, working closely with various key functions, including across academic, research, and administration divisions, to ensure alignment with university-wide objectives. The Project Manager will be essential in developing strategic project presentations, tracking progress against key strategic goals, and providing insightful analyses and briefings on outcomes and their impact on MBZUAI’s strategic direction. This role will directly inform senior leadership decisions, ensuring that execution effectively supports the university’s mission and ambitions in the rapidly evolving field of AI.
Key Responsibilities:
Divisional Strategy Materials & Executive Reporting
- Lead the development of high-quality materials, including executive presentations, strategic briefings, performance reports, KPI dashboards, and written summaries to support Director-level and leadership presentations.
- Translate strategic initiatives, operational progress, and KPI outcomes into structured, executive-ready content.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment of the School of Digital Public Health materials with institutional priorities and governance requirements.
- Maintain version control, documentation standards, and reporting cadence across divisional submissions.
Strategic Project Planning & Coordination
- Support the planning and structuring of strategic initiatives, defining objectives, milestones, timelines, risks, and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain institutional project trackers, ensuring accountability, visibility, and alignment with divisional and university-level priorities.
- Coordinate cross-functional inputs from academic, research, and administrative units to consolidate materials for leadership review.
Performance Monitoring & KPI Reporting
- Track progress against strategic KPIs, milestones, budgets, and performance targets.
- Prepare structured dashboards and periodic status reports highlighting achievements, risks, mitigation actions, and decision points.
- Conduct benchmarking and research analysis to inform School of Digital Public Health strategy development and initiative refinement.
Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment
- Facilitate communication and coordination between the School of Digital Public Health and internal stakeholders, including the President’s Office, Academic and Research Divisions, Global Engagement, and administrative units.
- Gather and synthesize stakeholder feedback to inform reporting materials and strategic documentation.
- Support preparation for executive meetings, strategy workshops, and governance forums.
Resource & Process Oversight
- Assist in resource planning and budget tracking aligned with School of Digital Public Health initiatives, ensuring compliance with MBZUAI financial policies.
- Monitor project scope, risks, and dependencies to ensure timely delivery of materials and initiatives.
- Support continuous improvement through post-project reviews and lessons-learned documentation.
Other Duties
Perform all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager that are commensurate with these functional objectives.
Academic Qualification:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in project management or a relevant discipline.
- A postgraduate degree is preferred.
Professional Experience:
Essential
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive project management experience, including experience working with consultancy firms or top academic institutes.
- Proven ability to lead and manage complex situations and translate strategic objectives into actionable project plans.
- Demonstrating strong project management methodology understanding, often through PMP, includes implementing frameworks like PRINCE2 and Agile (Scrum, Kanban) with tools like Asana and Gantt charts.
- Skilled in identifying key stakeholders and managing collaborative relationships within complex organizations.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities, adapting to changing requirements, and driving continuous improvement.
Preferred
- Background in Health Sciences.
- PMP or equivalent certification.
