Job Purpose:
The Undergraduate Student Recruitment Officer supports MBZUAI’s recruitment efforts by coordinating events, managing administrative tasks, and engaging with prospective students and their families. This role plays a key part in promoting the university’s programs, assisting with the execution of outreach activities, and fostering interest among potential applicants through direct communication, events, and informational support.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Management & Outreach:
- Assist in organizing and executing recruitment events, including candidate weekend, counsellors’ weekend, open days, school visits, education fairs, and virtual sessions.
- Coordinate logistics for events (venue booking, materials preparation, registration tracking).
- Represent MBZUAI at recruitment events to engage with prospective students and parents.
- Support the development of event-related promotional materials in collaboration with the marketing team.
Administrative Support:
- Maintain and update prospective student databases.
- Handle inquiries from students, parents, and schools via email, phone, or in-person.
- Assist in preparing reports on recruitment activities and event outcomes.
- Manage scheduling and follow-ups for recruitment-related meetings and engagements.
Prospective Student Engagement:
- Provide general information about MBZUAI’s undergraduate programs and application processes.
- Facilitate campus tours and information sessions for visiting groups.
- Support the distribution of recruitment materials to schools and stakeholders.
Other Duties:
- Carry out all other duties as reasonably directed by the Line Manager, to support the department and MBZUAI’s objectives.
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Management, Communications, Education, or a related field.
Professional Experience:
Essential
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in event coordination, student recruitment, or administrative roles, preferably in higher education outreach (experience in STEM/AI fields is a plus).
- Exceptional public speaking and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM systems, social media, and data-driven decision-making.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Attributes: Passion for AI/technology, self-motivated, and willing to travel as needed.
Preferred
- Graduation from a globally ranked (THE, QS, US NEWS, etc.,) top 100 universities.
- Dual- or multi-language speaker.
